patient Information

Mohs Surgery is widely practiced in the USA and Australasia for the management of skin cancers. Mohs Surgery now forms an important part of the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for the management of skin cancer.

Mohssurgery.org.uk are a group of dermatologists in the UK who are trained in Mohs Surgery and are responsible for the implentation of the NICE guidelines within their regions
Mohs surgery is regarded as the definitive treatment for Basal Cell Skin Cancers (also known as BCCs and rodent ulcers). Mohs Micrographic Technique provides the best validated method of removal of these and certain other skin cancers.

BCCs are very rarely fatal but their effective management is important since if left they can be extremely damaging. Mohs Surgery has been validated at providing the most effective treatment for these tumours.
